Doors 7:45 PM, Music 8:30 PM - 2 sets of music Line-up: Phil Robson - Guitar Ross Stanley - Organ Gene Calderazzo - Drum kit About: Phil Robson, an incredibly versatile and creative guitar player as well as composer, named Musician of the Year at 2009 Parliamentary Jazz Awards, plus winning Album of the Year in 2015, joined forces with the Hammond virtuoso Ross Stanley and the inspiring and powerful drummer Gene Calderazzo to form this all-star band in 2015 and they come together to tour regularly because they love playing together. Robson was a seminal part of the London scene for over 2 decades before moving to New York City for 5 years. He is now based in Ireland. The trio play mostly Robson originals which are steeped in the swing, groove and the organ trio tradition, while also being contemporary with strong melodies making their music exciting but accessible to all who love to see passionate live music and real bands. The exceptional musicianship of all members is unquestionable. Together, as a band they create a very refreshing and compelling mix. The music is sensational, played with great energy and the incredible rapport between the three members which is something that definitely sets this band apart. For 23 years Phil also co-led the cult band Partisans which was a major influence on the European “Nu-Jazz” scene. He’s also known for his work with partner & celebrated vocalist/composer Christine Tobin.
